Easter Workshops

From the Last Supper to Christ’s Accension to Heaven, the entire Easter story can be told through paintings providing an easily accessible, visually stimulating way of learning. We’ll look at paintings from the 1300s through to the 20th century, great works by Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Titian and Salvador Dali, amongst many others.
These workshops are perfect for whole school Pause Days and both the KS2 Religious Studies and art curriculums. They can be just the interactive 'Talking About Art' workshop (for a minimum of two classes) or with a practical art activity as well.

Talking about Art

We start by learning the context of paintings as storytelling devices and then investigate a painting together. Then, in groups, the children will be ‘painting detectives’ looking for clues to work out their section of the story. Together they then feedback, discuss and create the entire story.

Practical Activities
If you would like to do practical activities as well as the art history ‘Talking About Art’ workshop there are a range that we can discuss depending upon the year group and your skills development.
All activities will be tailored to your class needs and include the symbols found within the art and a theme of light and hope.
